Artist declaration
My photographic practice emerges from a context of intersections between personal experiences, processes of subjectivation and research focused on what is revealed at the edge of the image. I shoot with a very reduced monocular vision, which leads me to a method of observation that emphasises contours, shadows and spaces.
This state of restricted perception, similar to literary reflections on partial darkness, drives a poetics of subtlety, in which each scene is perceived as an interlude between clarity and indefiniteness.
The collection of memories that mobilise my research includes episodes of violence, homophobia and fragility. I turn this collection into visual expressions that question the human condition and the nature of occupied spaces.
My research is based on the understanding that the act of photographing aims to express the experience of existing, through the path of memory and thought. A record that is installed in the tension between the visible and the silenced. Each frame functions as a way of giving voice to what has been omitted or underestimated.
Physical limitation becomes poetic power, producing images that evoke both inner experience and the contrasts of the outside world.
I am interested in creating situations in which photography dialogues with memory and pain, articulating elements of fragility and resistance. In this way, I invite the viewer to enter a sphere of reflection where the gesture of seeing is not limited to optical vision, but involves the ability to embrace and reinterpret the ambiguity that surrounds us.
